A closer look

Knit pet sweaters often fail on real trails. Loose loops catch on low briars, synthetic yarns build up static friction against dry dog fur, and solid backs force you to strap a harness awkwardly over the fabric. We tailored the Trail Explorer from heavyweight organic cotton fleece to keep active dogs warm during cold ascents without causing them to overheat. Natural cotton fibers breathe freely as body temperatures rise on steep switchbacks, while heavy-duty ribbed trims give legs full clearance to scramble without restriction.

Ask it before you buy

Can my dog wear their standard walking harness under this hoodie?

Yes. A reinforced pass-through slit sits right beneath the hood, allowing your leash to connect directly to the harness worn underneath without bunching the fabric.

How does this fabric handle dry, brambly brush compared to typical knit sweaters?

The smooth, dense face of the heavyweight organic cotton fleece resists catches and snags that typically pull threads out of loose acrylic or wool knits on the trail.

What is the best way to clean off trail mud?

Machine wash cold using gentle detergent, then line dry to preserve the natural fleece texture and retain elasticity in the ribbed cuffs.

How do I put the hoodie on an active dog?

Gently pull the collar opening over your dog's head first, then slide each front paw through the flexible ribbed leg openings.
